The European Union has been looking at viable alternatives to chlorine, acids and other harmful chemicals which have served a purpose in many applications for many years. Though they have been effective many scientists have been questioning the side effects on human health and the environment for many of these products.
New studies show clear links of asthma and other medical problems related to the continued use of these chemicals.
Also in light of their application shortcomings there has been no absence in problems of contamination and ineffective performance sometimes resulting in illness or death.
There is now a tested, tried and better technology, approved, and used in Europe. Canadians also have a right to a safer and greener environment. This should not remain as lip service but, where possible, put into effect.
