The Continuous Dosing of Huwa-San DW to Domestic Water Systems in the United Kingdom
Huwa-San DW TR50 a 50% hydrogen peroxide stabilised using low level ionic silver has been used to control legionella in Domestic Water systems in the United Kingdom since 2002. Initially it was used as a one off disinfectant in situations where chlorine (bleach) had not been successful. Huwa-San DW TR50 has also been used as a continuous dose chemical to control legionella and other water microorganisms in domestic water systems. This report shows that a continuous dose strategy has been entirely successful. Providing the system is thoroughly disinfected with a minimum level of 200 ppm Huwa-San DW TR50 for 24 hours an average dose level of around 15 -20 ppm will eliminate legionella and other bacteria from a domestic water system.

SanEcoTec’s business partners were invited to review the situation.

NHS Hospital in the UK
A UK hospital with a very large footprint began measuring drinking water quality from their domestic water system in 2000 and noticed it had microbial contamination and high TVC's in many of their outlets. The two predominant problems were E-coli and Legionella. They set up an advisory team to address this problem and laid out a number of parameters. They decided that Huwa-San technology could perhaps meet these requirements where conventional chlorine or chlorine dioxide could not. They implemented automated dosing of Huwa-San technology and measured extensively over a period of two years and found that their problem had been completely eradicated.
